Custom Game Design and Development
As we work on our own games here at UEG, we continue to work with others to make their games the absolute best games they can be.
We love doing consulting work because:
- it keeps us in contact with the outside world. After spending a long time working on one project it’s nice to have contact with other lovely humans!
- we love seeing large and small projects come together. Seeing a game come together and work is always a great thing. We love taking a small part in your success.
- we love new challenges, consulting is a chance for us to grow and solve new problems.
- we mostly just like helping our fellow game developers!
STATUS: Clint Brewer will have some time available soon for one off projects & longer term part-time contract work.

Client Profile: vSide & Doppelganger
vSide is free-to-play 3D online virtual world for teens made by Doppelganger Inc
Take a look at vSide yourself, or check out some of the user created videos below!
Question: How did UnEarthed Games get involved with vSide?
Answer: I was initially brought in for a short contract before the first version of “The PCD Lounge” was released. This contract was to help a friend (who was the client engineer) and some of the artists at Doppelganger get up to speed on the Torque Game Engine and Torque art pipeline… to sort of show them what I had been able to do working with my own project in TGE.
We all liked working together, so they gave me another short contract to create a cartoon shaded look for their game. That went well also and we entered into a longer term contract, where I spent about three years working on “The PCD Lounge”, which became “The Music Lounge”, which finally became “vSide” and a side project vLES built on the same engine.
Question: What were some of the particular things UnEarthed Games Helped to create for vSide?
Answer Doppelganger being a relatively small company, I was lucky enough to work on a wide variety of projects for vSide: mini-games, interactive toys, 3D graphics rendering, networking, performance improvements, art tools, engine editor etc.
Here are a few of the projects I was able to play a significant part in. (these videos were created by players of vSide, there are many more videos of vSide on youtube to check out also)
Playable Instruments – These are toys that allow you to feel like you are playing guitar by syncing up animations with guitar riffs
Apartment System – Worked with back end team to set up Apartment client and server code, save and load system, with generic item setup so that anything can be a piece of furniture you can decorate your apartment with ( as demonstrated in this video )
Sumo Combat Game – Free for all combat game where you push other players out of the ring for vPoints, an earnable currency in vSide
Halloween and Holiday Conversions – Custom modes for vSide with decorations, throw-able pumpkins, gift-giving Christmas trees, ice skating, zombie tag games, secret mazes, etc
